The gift we ALL can afford to give-please read and share

Happy New Year!

Although I would like to live in a world of make believe I cannot. Although the calendar flipped to a new year many of the struggles that we have all endured are still prevailing. Since I am a recruiter, I am reminded daily that unemployed people are struggling – and they have been for more than 6 months.

I am asking my network to consider taking 30 minutes out of your day to call an unemployed person and offer to help. Help by offering to look at their resume and make constructive suggestions. Help by thinking of people that you could connect them to-even recruiters! Help them by listening and crafting a new value proposition with them.  Help them by making them feel good about all their hard work. Help them by being honest about what they are not doing right. Help them by giving them hope.

Please do not forget to call a recent college graduate from the class of 2020. Everyone who is employed has career advice to offer to the class of 2020-EVERYONE. Please consider being a mentor by scheduling a 30-minute call once a month where you share advice, lessons learned, or suggested reading lists. Consider creating a virtual internship and give them projects that will enable them to learn, build their resumes and have relevant topics to discuss on interviews.
